A Liebster Award!

It’s been a few weeks that syncwithdeep has nominated me for a Liebster Award. I had been caught up with travelling and other things and couldn’t get to it.

Liebster Award is a recognition of a blog by a fellow blogger. ‘Liebster’ is a German word that translates to beloved or dear.

Deepa (syncwithdeep), first of all, a big thank you for considering me worthy of this award. Don’t know if I deserve this, but it sure is Dopamine inducing and makes me happy.

THE OFFICIAL RULES OF THE LIEBSTER AWARD 2018 (as seen on The Global Aussie)

  1. Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you and display the award logo.
  2. Answer 11 questions that the blogger sets you.
  3. Nominate blogs that you think are deserving of the award.
  4. Create 11 questions for your nominees to answer.
  5. Let your nominees know about their nomination!

I am bending the rules a bit and not nominating anybody. However, I am excited to answer all the questions put forth by Deepa (syncwithdeep). And, if you happen to read and pick up any question to answer, I’ll be more than delighted.

Here they go:

Tell me about yourself in 6 Words

Rule follower, nature lover, fanatically tidy

What are the 2 qualities that connect you to someone new?

Straightforwardness and respectfulness

What is your blog all about?

Mostly travel, hiking, and trekking but sometimes a little about life in general too

Technology – Is it a boon or a curse? What excites you most about the current advancement of technology and what makes you most wary? Why?

It’s both boon and curse depending on how we use it. Technology excites me with the fact that every information and knowledge is at my fingertip. It also enables me to remain connected with family and friends. Again, it’s the same technology that is slowly eroding human to human contact and making us isolated. Also, we are forgetting to be humans, and losing our capabilities, such as counting and calculating, writing on paper, etc. All of this makes me wary. I guess my scale tilts towards bane. But again, if I think of technology in things like saving lives, it sure is a boon. So, it’s difficult to label technology as a boon or a curse.

Do you have a memory that follows you still?

Yes, several! To mention one, my maternal grandparents lived in a Tea Garden in Assam. During our childhood, schools would shut down for 3 months in winter. Every year, it would be an exciting 3-month long vacation at the Tea Garden. Feels like a dream now!

How did your blogging journey begin?

I just love to answer this question. I was just writing for myself, sort of keeping an account of the interesting experiences of my life. So that, in case memory happens to fail me later in life, I can smile and spend my days reliving all the interesting experiences I have had. But it has been heartening to see that many people have read my stories and liked them. I have also been able to connect with so many wonderful and talented people, whom I would not have otherwise known.

What is your favourite food?

It’s whatever my mom and aunts cook – cannot be replicated!

What do you like about WordPress bloggers?

I have found people to be passionate and sincere. They just love what they do and that brings out the best in them.

Share something that you like. You can share an experience, a quote or poem or anything that appeals you. The space is all yours!

A quote that I love to use – “The best days of our lives haven’t happened yet!”

Do you prefer hard cover books or ebooks? Why?

Absolutely hard cover books, the feel of the pages, the smell of the paper, holding it with my hands is no match for ebooks.

If you want to convey your Thanks or Sorry to someone, you can do it now.

Yes, but they wouldn’t see it. Hence, for now thanks to everyone who have read and liked my posts and sorry if I haven’t visited your blog for a while.

      1. Hi, Neel. I must have missed it! Even though I did flip over posts in last 10-15 days. I was on a long vacation. I’m generally disconnected from the virtual world even though I have access to the internet. 🙂 I have been to this region but I trekked from the right side rather than left side which takes to Rupin pass.

                    1. Neel, I generally don’t upload my pictures on drive. I’m little wary of connected world and all the nuisance it brings. I’m old fashioned so I save it on hard disc and create another one for back up. I guess we are not following each other yet. Here’s how you can find me @arv_jpr
